In 1958/59, Steve Kilvert undertook a two year posting with the Royal Engineers to Gibraltar. Initially he was employed at the Power Station at the Dockyard, but then was involved in setting up at the site at ‘Windy Hill’. He provides an interesting account of working as an engineer maintaining the power supply and about life as a young soldier in Gibraltar during the post WW2/emerging Cold War period.
