Reginald Burgh was a Private in the Devonshire Regiment in Gibraltar during 1940-1943. He describes inshore patrols looking for Italian submarines and the eventual capture of a min sub. He recalls an attack by the Italian Air Force. He describes military life on the Rock, the accommodation, rations and water supply. He also mentions the 33 miles of tunnels and how the spoil was used on the construction of the runway.
