Catalina Ridgeway (Kitty) was born in Gibraltar in 1922, the eldest of six children, her father was a policeman. This is a vivid interview covering family life in 1930s Gibraltar; culture; evacuation to London during the Blitz; when the family arrived in London they lived for nearly a year in The Empress Hall, an ice skating rink in Fulham where they bedded down between the seats. Kitty describes life in London, working in a factory, keeping Gibraltarian culture alive. When she returned to Gibraltar she found it very small and claustrophobic but settled down and speaks of her love of Gibraltar.
