Victor Risso was born in Gibraltar and recalls his family history and family life before the war. He remembers the Spanish Civil War and the Gibraltarians taking in Spanish refugees. At the beginning of WWII the family was evacuated first to Casablanca; then to London, and finally to Northern Ireland. He gives a vivid description of being a child during the London Blitz; watching the bombing and not being frightened. He also recalls the camps in Northern Ireland. He goes on to speak about post-war Gibraltar; the atmosphere in the streets when The Fleet was in; Gibraltarian culture. Victor and his wife Magda returned to live in England when their son was born. > See also Magda Risso.
