Pepe Forbes was born in Gibraltar in 1917. He speaks about life in Gibraltar before the war; the multiculturalism of Gibraltar, the military presence. He was evacuated to the UK during the war and met his wife in London where they lived during the Blitz. They were then evacuated to Northern Ireland where their first child was born in the Gibraltarian camp. The family returned to Gibraltar after the war and then came to the UK and settled permanently in London where Pepe Forbes had a very successful career as a boxing promoter. Pepe Forbes died in London in 2013.
